Board of Trustes

Sharon has been the Chair of the Board of Trustees since late 2025. She has almost 40 years of customer support experience. Those customers ranged from Fund Managers in the City of London as a Market Data Analyst, University students as a note taker and primary school children as an administrator/kitchen support assistant in deepest Devon. She worked for nearly 4 years at Access Creative College in Bristol as a Centre Administrator, assisting students (16+ years), tutors and parents.

She is honoured to bring past experiences to help further the growth of the Bristol Reggae Orchestra and Windrush Reggae Choir with community projects and beyond.

Barrington is one of the founding members of the orchestra who credits reggae music as a significant vessel for spreading love and bringing people together. His long-standing commitment to the orchestra as percussionist, drummer and MC highlights how much he embodies its spirit and mission.

Over the years, he has been a crucial figure in the growth of BRO, particularly its engagement with the local community and schools and singing with the Windrush Choir. Born and raised in St James, Jamaica, his foundation in roots rock reggae continues to be key to the evolution of our outreach programme.

"My aspirations are to see the orchestra spread its wings and to represent Jamaica internationally. I hope to share my expertise in grooving and playing reggae with the different communities we engage with through our events."

Kevin Millwood, known best as DJ K Anthony, is a highly respected Information Security Professional, with many years of experience in the financial service industry, a public speaker for World Cyber Congress, DTX Events, B-Sides and more.

He has over 25 years' experience in music events, both as a DJ and as a marketing and promotions specialist. He has previously managed two nightclubs in the Bristol area and featured on BBC Radio 1Xtra with accolades including the best music event in the UK (various national press coverage).

Rebecca has been a Clarinettist and occasional Vocalist with the orchestra since 2010. She served as the Orchestra Leader from February 2021 to July 2023.

Rebecca is a Psychology graduate with over 20 years of experience in youth and community arts. She currently serves as Head of Estates for Creative Youth Network with strategic responsibility for the charity's places and spaces having previously held roles in project and venue management.

Rebecca is a senior lead for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in her organisation and believes strongly that music is a powerful tool for education, learning and self-expression. She is particularly passionate about supporting young people's pathways into arts. 

Wesley has been a valuable member of the Board since 2023, providing support to both the choir and the orchestra's financial operations. A trombonist himself, he is keen to play his part is ensuring others have the same opportunities for fun and fulfilment though music that he has enjoyed in his time.

Outside of music and his duties on the Board of Trustees, Wesley is undertaking an accounting traineeship in Bristol and is also a keen rugby player.
 

Siggy is a multi-instrumentalist and composer with over 30 years’ experience in the music industry, as an artist, community musician, and arts and cultural sector professional. Having previously chaired the Board of Trustees at Sound Sense from 2017 to 2020, Siggy offers a deep well of expertise and knowledge for the charity.

In his time at the Bristol Beacon, he headed up the National Centre for Inclusive Excellence, developing a range of inclusive projects and initiatives to help those facing the biggest barriers to fulfil their creative and expressive potential.

After retiring from over 35 years as a senior nurse with the NHS, Lorna runs a successful business, selling a range of hand crafted homeware and accessories from African inspired materials. She is also a director of a Bristol based gift shop, promoting the work of local makers, artist and other members of the community, focussing on handmade and ethically sourced products.

A keen lover of music across numerous genres, Lorna has over 10 year’s experience as a gospel and reggae singer, bringing her energy and passion to audiences through her unique and dynamic stage presence. In addition to her vocal performances with the Bristol Reggae Orchestra, Lorna is a committee member and joint liaison for the Bristol Windrush Reggae Choir.

Lorna wants to use her skills and background to help promote opportunities for the BRO to continue its growth and development across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Tim Kindberg bought his first David Bowie album aged 13, and a few years later became a drummer in a punk band which performed alongside the Newtown Neurotics in Brixton Arches. His musical life has been in a lower key since then, but he has always loved music from afrobeats through reggae to new wave, '80s synth pop and UK garage. He gets a particular kick from singing in the choir and playing percussion in the orchestra, and wants to help expand the ways in which we bring the communal joy of music to more people: new audiences and new participants.

He is mostly retired from his career in research and development in digital technology and spends his time writing short stories, poems, and novels including Vampires of Avonmouth. His next book, Future Song, is set in near-future Bristol and will be out in 2026. He has recently started living part-time in Kenya, with his wife who hails from there.

Our latest addition to the Board of Trustees, Catherine is an experienced financial services professional with expertise in the savings and deposit aggregation market. She is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, leading the Cultural Diversity Network and actively supporting charitable fundraising initiatives.

Committed to community engagement, Catherine is dedicated to creating opportunities for others and supporting the next generation through mentorship and outreach activities. She values building meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Outside of her professional and voluntary roles, Catherine enjoys travelling, exploring different cultures, and gaining experiences that enrich both her personal and professional development.
